Opening night of the long awaited Ernie Davis movie; the time is a guess and I'll post the actually scheduled time when its announced. Ernie Davis, for some of you not carrying AARP cards, was the first black man to win the Heisman Trophy, and the brightest star on SU's 1959 national championship team. His story is one of strength and dignity in confronting '50's racial discrimination. This promises to be a football Glory Road, with Dennis Quaid as Ben Schwartzwalder and the unknown Rob Brown as Davis. I may be the only member of the group old enough to have seen Davis play live. Let me tell you, he moved like a cat and hit like a cannonball. This is a fun history lesson/recollection for all Orange fans, and I can't wait to see how they stage the first play of the 1960 Cotton Bowl. And yes, there will be beers afterwords.
